1 Comment How can any city official justify having any luxuries at the tax payers expense (i.e. Luxury cars and drivers), when they tell us that there is no money for the necessities of basic human decency? If There is no money for, EMS, Police, Garbage, Street lights, etc, then, the city officials need to catch the bus, walk the streets, wait on EMS in a crisis, allow their children to walk to and receive a DPS education, amongst the rest of the citizens of this city!!! If we stop paying for their luxuries then there will be monies to pay for some of our necessities. The citizens should just say "No" to any perks of the position that city officials receive, until we get some of the basic services. If there is no money for the safety of the public, then there should be no protection officers assigned to them. If there is no money to cut the grass, clean the streets, or pick up the garbage, then none of that gets done for them on our dime. if there is no money to feed the women and children of this city, then they don't get a food allowance either. If we have to wait 2 hours for a bus, live in the dark, and just except the fact that the police are not coming to the scene of a crime, then so should they. Do these officials truly believe that this is exceptable for us. I'm just going to say "No".
